Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment and share a snippet from a recent episode of the podcast. While the podcast is most certainly focused on footy, I wanted to use episode 186 (linked above) to pay my respects to someone near and dear to me, as well as a fun "call to action".
Two weeks ago today, my family lost a great man. The first half of the episode, I pay tribute to my uncle, who was the closest thing my kids and my sister's kids had to a grandfather in their hometown. An absolutely gem of a man.
He'd been married to my father's sister, and both my father, and my aunt died in 2001. About a year after they passed away, my uncle and my mom started a friendship that grew to them being inseparable for over two decades.
He was a great man who will be missed.
Our mom will be having her 80th birthday in a couple of months, and my sister and I are looking to help her make her birthday memorable. She is hoping to receive as many birthday cards from as many different places as possible. With those cards, she is hoping to get a picture or a quick note about something or some place that brings them joy.
That's where you, the person reading this comes in. If you want to bring some joy to someone who could most certainly use some joy in her life right now, it would be great if you could drop a card in the mail. We're collecting them, and presenting them to her on her birthday.
If you want to help out with this endeavour, please consider dropping a card in the post. Also, if you'd share this blog post with your friends, that'd be great.
