Hi Craig. I’m Frazer Campbell’s mother - the young autistic artist you so generously promoted on your show last year. He and I are both rabid Essendon supporters, as you know. We’re a bit of an arty mob- I’m a writer, and I have a debut novel coming out on February 1 called ‘The Keepers.’ It’s not about football, but I’ve worked a lot of Essendon references in there - in fact, almost every character’s surname in the book is a player either past or present. I thought my publisher would try to make me take them out, because it’s ‘literary fiction’, but they didn’t! Actually they thought it was hysterical (my publisher is a Carlton supporter). So they are kind of like ‘Easter eggs’ for the footy-fan reader (I don’t actually expect there’ll be too many of those tho!) Anyway, it’s kind of a weird but cool way of paying tribute to the team we love via our work - Frazer paints them and I weave them into novels!! Do you think you might be interested in chatting with Frazer and I, as a double act? No worries at all if you think it might be too obscure?!
